About & services

Most older adults see four doctors who never speak to one another.

Arwad is built the other way round: one shared record, a monthly team review, and a single plan that grows with you.

Longevity Medicine

Biological age assessment, biomarker panels and healthspan protocols. Science aimed at your healthy years, not only your total ones.

Dementia Care

Early detection, cognitive monitoring and coordinated care, with support for the family built into the plan.

Women's Health

Hormonal care through perimenopause and menopause, and the conditions that change with it.

Mental Health

Mood, anxiety and sleep in later life, treated alongside everything else rather than separately.

Why Arwad

Geriatric medicine that comes to the family.

Ten things that make our care different, and why each one matters.

Geriatric medicine is a distinct subspecialty

Older adults are not simply adults carrying several chronic diseases. Arwad began because your mother and father deserve a doctor trained in geriatric medicine, time enough to see the whole picture, and a family that is in the room and a core partner in the decision.

The consultation

  1. A consultant geriatrician leads every visit

The patient is seen by a consultant in geriatric medicine. That same consultant assesses and builds the road map around what the older person actually needs.

  2. A full geriatric assessment in one 40-minute visit

Memory and mood, weight and nutrition, medications, falls and balance problems affecting mobility, the ability to carry out basic daily activities, and the support of the caregivers around the older person, all reviewed together in one structured session, rather than across scattered appointments in different clinics.

  3. The road map starts with what matters to the patient and family

We ask first about priorities, values, beliefs and what genuinely matters to the patient and the family, before treatment is discussed, then build the road map on that basis. Our measure of success is quality of life and independence, not a narrow focus on one chronic disease that loses sight of the most important element: the older person and their own health priority at each stage.

  4. Every medication reviewed, the unhelpful ones reduced, the schedule simplified

We account for every medicine actually being taken, identify duplication, interactions and drugs no longer needed, and agree a simpler, safer treatment plan with the treating doctors.

  5. Support for memory, mood and the behavioural changes that come with age

We assess changes in memory, mood, sleep or behaviour, and support the family step by step with practical non-pharmacological approaches: a steady daily routine, physical activity, meaningful engagement, and better ways of communicating with the patient, rather than relying on medication alone.

The family

  1. Family conference and caregiver support plan

With the patient's consent, relatives join the visit remotely from anywhere, inside or outside the Kingdom, to align on priorities and divide roles so that no one is left outside the picture. We assess caregiver strain and set out a practical plan for respite and backup care.

  2. A comprehensive written treatment plan in Arabic and English

The older person and the family receive a comprehensive treatment plan that serves as a health road map, written in plain language: what we found, what it means, and the next steps. One reference that brings the family and the treating doctors to an agreed view.

  3. A second opinion on the difficult decisions

Assessment of the older person ahead of critical surgery, follow-up during and after a hospital admission, and advice before starting or stopping a new treatment. We sit with the family and explain the options and the outcome of each, in language matched to the health literacy of each patient and caregiver, so the decision stays yours, aligned with the patient's values, beliefs and condition from every angle.

Easy access and continuity

  1. Fourteen days of nursing support through messaging channels

For 14 days after a first visit we remain available to you: case managers reachable through several communication channels during working hours, to explain the treatment plan, answer questions and follow up that the agreed actions are happening. Please note this is not a line for emergencies, and not a substitute for assessment of urgent conditions through the approved channels.

  2. Care that reaches people who cannot reach a clinic

Bedbound patients and people with physical or cognitive disabilities, those for whom travel and waiting in clinics is exhausting or unsafe, and families whose children live outside the Kingdom. The assessment and the road map come to the home, and the family stays connected wherever they are.
